PDF - Data Extraction Using Automation Anywhere

Hi All


Data Extraction using Automation Anywhere is very easily if we compare with other tool such as Blue Prism , Work fusion , UI path it's not so easy


In  Work Fusion  we can read the PDF by converting the PDF to HTML extra cost and extra effort .




 Use case


1. Extract some data from the PDF such as  First Name , Last Name etc


2 Pass these Information to another system may be Windows's, Web , Mainframe etc.




Automation Anywhere


1 . Open the AA client -- double click the PDF Integration


2   Select the option  Extract Form field


3 Provide the PDF file path ( We can set this to be dynamic using variable


4 If PDF is password protected provide the user name and password we can also set the variable


5 Click on Add Button


6 PDF file will be uploaded and selected the value you want to extract and save it into variable


5 Pass the extracted value of variable in another application

What is Scaling of Robot in Robotic Process Automation?

Scaling of Robo / Bot is very critical process regarding designing the RPA solution . If the solution is not well designed, we will not able scale the solution and get the full ROI of RPA tools.

Let comes back to work estimation theory

Let’s estimate work for 80 Hrs

If x every day work for 8 hours x requires 10 days  to complete the task (80/8 =10)

if X Manager want to decrease the time line to compete the task He / She deploy 2 resources for 80 hrs. works   

80 Hrs /2Person = 40 Hours  

40 Hrs /8 Hrs  = 5 Days

if X Manager will deploy 2 resources the work will be to completed in  5 days

Same in RPA world –

If one robo/ Bots everyday process 100 Invoices in 8 Hrs and requirements is to process 1400 Invoices in 5 day what will be do

100 * 8 = 800

1400 / 800 = 1.75

We will deploy 2 Bots for Process of 1400 invoices

So adding the new Robo/ Bots as the Volume of work increases is known as scaling of Robot.


Note : I have selected one  reason for scaling of Robo / bots their are other reason also for scaling the robo i.e. Access , Security,

Pattern Based Data Extraction Using Automation Anywhere is one of the good features of Automation Anywhere Tool .


Use Case

1 Open Any web site
2 Extract the Content from the site - In AA tool we have to set that Pattern in the website and extract the data and Save in CSV file  for eg --  Title of the Book , Phone Number, Address etc .


3 Pass the Extracted value to other application or send the file as Email


Benefit

Easily extract the content from the website and further apply any business rule or input to another application as per requirements


Note : If we extract the data  such as Title of the Book , Phone Number , Address from the website we can apply  Filter , search specific data etc  very easily

1.Process Architect - (Business Analyst ) - Who will design AS-Is design of Process.

2. Technical Architect - Who will perform the feasibility study of the process and do perform the estimation as per AS- IS design and do the tool selection which suits best as per ROI and requirements.

Note: In some case tool selection, will be done by client team as they have the existing license with them or client wants the solutions should be design in their comfortable product

3. RPA developer - Develop the Bots as per Technical design and tool selected such as AA, BP, Work fusion, UI Path etc.

4 RPA Tester - Test the Bots as per requirement. If Team will be big then there will be segregation between developer and tester otherwise developer need to test their requirements .

5 Admin / RUN time / Developer -- Deploy the code in Production or staging environment.

6 Support --RPA Developer provides the supports as per requirement changes in BOT in future .
